Unlike the constricted downtown original, this Primi Piatti occupies a vast, luxurious space,
featuring upscale touches like romantic sconce lighting and entire groves of potted palms.
On Saturday nights, animated, well-turned out couples predominate, sometimes in groups at
the larger tables.
One dish with an impossibly long name -- insalata di aragosta su listarelle di finocchio con
scaglie di parmigiano ed olio d'oliva (unabridged Italian for lobster salad with fennel,
Parmesan and olive oil) -- is an inspired combination of flavors and textures. Green lasagna,
made with veal ragu, fresh mozzarella and startlingly green pasta, is true comfort food.
Try the lamb chops, done in the classic style with rosemary and garlic. Gorgeous surroundings
and professional service make this an ideal destination for a special night out. There's also
valet parking after 5:30 pm.
